Sending the Notice of Mandated Three Year Reevaluation
All Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) must be reevaluated at least once every three years.
Note: In some cases the parent or guardian and the principal may agree to waive the mandated three-year evaluation. This must be indicated in SESIS.
To send the Notice of Mandated Three Year Reevaluation
- Locate the student's profile.
How?
- Review the Process Status section to verify that the process status is correct.
- If the process status is not correct, make the necessary updates in CAP.
Note: Updates take approximately 24 hours. You will need to wait for the update to occur before proceeding to the next step.
- From the Actions bar, click Documents.
A list of all documents for the student appears.
- From the Create New Document drop-down menu, choose Mandated Three Year Reevaluation.
- Click the Go button.
- Click the Create button.
The Mandated Three Year Reevaluation document appears.
- Click the calendar (
) icon next to the Date field and choose the appropriate date.
Note: The default date is today's date.
- Click the Save, Done Editing button.
- Finalize the document.
How?
- From the Actions bar, click Send/Print Letter.
- Click the OK button to record sending the letter as an event.
The event log appears.
Note: The send/print date is automatically recorded and the Description field is auto-populated. No other fields are required.
Note: If the letter will not be mailed today or if a second copy is being printed and the event log does not need to be updated, click the Cancel button.
- Click the Accept/Print button.
The Print dialog box appears.
- Choose the appropriate printer and click the Print button.
The letter prints.
- Click the link to return to the previous screen.
- Create the Assessment Planning document.
