Completing the Functional Behavior Assessment
A Functional Behavior Assessment (FBA) is required when a student's disability classification is Emotionally Disturbed. The results of the FBA are incorporated into a Behavioral Intervention Plan (BIP).
To complete the Functional Behavior Assessment
- Locate the student's profile.
How?
- From the Actions bar, click Documents.
A list of all documents for the student appears.
- Click Individualized Education Program (IEP).
The IEP document appears.
Note: If the IEP document does not appear on the list, create a new IEP document.
- From the Actions bar, click More Actions.
- From the pop-up menu, click Modify Document Setup.
The Individualized Education Program (IEP) Setup page appears.
- Check the Functional Behavior Assessment checkbox.
- Click the Accept button.
- From the Actions bar, click the Select drop-down () icon.
- From the pop-up menu, click Other Sections.
- Click the Functional Behavior Assessment link.
The Functional Behavior Assessment appears in Edit mode.
- Complete the appropriate sections.
- Click the Save, Done Editing button.
