Completing the IEP: Student Needs Relating to Special Factors section
Each student's Individualized Education Program (IEP) is comprised of many sections. The Student Needs Relating to Special Factors section appears on all IEPs for all students.
This section is based on information that is entered on the IEP cover page. It addresses needs such as the following:
- Behavioral
- Language
- Braille instruction requirements
- Communication
- Assistive technology
This is a new state IEP section that combines other sections of the IEP to reduce time spent on data entry.
Tip
- The particular device or service(s) needed must be identified on the Recommended Special Education Programs and Services section of the IEP.
To complete the Student Needs Relating to Special Factors section of the IEP
- Locate the student's profile.
How?
- From the Actions bar, click Documents.
A list of all documents for the student appears.
- Click Individualized Education Program (IEP).
The IEP document appears.
Note: If the IEP document does not appear on the list, create a new IEP document.
- From the Actions bar, click the Select drop-down () icon.
- From the pop-up menu, click Student Needs Relating to Special Factors.
The Student Needs Relating to Special Factors section of the IEP appears.
- Complete all relevant sections.
- Click the Save, Done Editing button.
