Completing the IEP: Recommended Special Education Programs and Services section

Each student's Individualized Education Program (IEP) is comprised of many sections. The Recommended Special Education Programs and Services section appears on all IEPs for all students.

This section identifies the following:

Important: Frequency and language of service are mandatory. If this information is not completed, the IEP data will not flow back to CAP.

Tips

Note: Home Instruction is now indicated on the Special Transportation/Placement Recommendation section of the IEP in the Placement Recommendation section.

To complete the Recommended Special Education Programs and Services section of the IEP

  1. Locate the student's profile.
    How?

  2. From the Actions bar, click Documents.

    A list of all documents for the student appears.

  3. Click Individualized Education Program (IEP).

    The IEP document appears.

    Note: If the IEP document does not appear on the list, create a new IEP document.

  4. From the Actions bar, click the Select drop-down () icon.

  5. From the pop-up menu, click Recommended Special Ed Programs and Services.

  6. Complete all relevant sections.

    Important: Be sure to scroll to the right to view and complete all required sections.

    Note: If the Summary Page indicates that no records exist for Recommended Programs and Services section, do the following:

    1. On the Recommended Special Education Programs and Services section, make a note of all the dates for all special education programs and related services.

    2. Remove the value for each of the dates for all special education programs and related services.

    3. Click the Save Done Editing button.

    4. Return to each field you just cleared and add the dates back in.

  7. Click the Save, Done Editing button.
