Creating a student profile in SESIS
SESIS contains data for students who have been referred for evaluation for special education services, who are currently receiving special education services, or who have previously received special education services from the New York City Department of Education (DOE).
Important: A student profile cannot be brought into SESIS without an OSIS number.
If you do not have the student's OSIS number, contact the person responsible for
ATS at the student's school to locate the OSIS number.
When SESIS users are unable to locate a specific student, the reason may be one of the following:
- The user does not have permission to view the student profile.
- The student's ATS profile data has not been pulled into SESIS yet.
- The student does not have a profile in ATS (the student does not have an New York City ID (OSIS) number.
Note: If the student does not attend a public school, the
Committee on Special Education (CSE)
must update the student record.
- There is a problem with the user's SESIS profile.
