Assigning a location for a Turning 5 student

SESIS supports the development of Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) for Turning 5 students. All referral processes for these students will be completed and entered in CAP. SESIS assigns Turning 5 students to a location based on the location assignment available in CAP. The student's location is responsible for completing his or her IEP.

If the student does not have a location assignment in CAP, he or she is assigned to a Committee on Special Education (CSE) location based on his or her home district assignment in CAP. If the CSE will not be completing the Turning 5 process for the student, users with the appropriate security access can assign the student to a local school or another CSE location.

Important: Only CSE users have the ability to make this assignment.
