Creating a Services Plan (SP)

A Services Plan (SP) is a plan created for a student who is eligible for special education services, resides outside of New York State, and is placed by his or her parents in a non-public school within New York City. These students are referred to as parentally placed students.

The SP is equivalent to an Individualized Education Program (IEP), which is created for public school students who attend a New York City public school.

To create a Services Plan (SP)

  1. In SESIS, locate the student's profile.
    How?

  2. From the Actions bar, click Documents.

A list of all documents for the student appears.

  3. From the Create New Document drop-down menu, choose Services Plan (SP).

  4. Click the Go button, then click the Create button.

    The SP document appears.

  5. Complete all sections of the SP document, just as you would an IEP.

Note: The SP has fewer sections than the IEP or the IESP.

  6. When all sections are complete, finalize the SP document.
