Approving requests for initial referrals and reevaluations

Principals must approve requests for initial referrals and additional requests for reevaluations before a students evaluation can begin. When the principal has approved the referral, this status will be reflected in the report.

To approve requests for initial referrals and reevaluations

  1. In the Reports section of the SESIS home page, click the Requests for Additional Reevaluations Awaiting Approval (or the Requests for Initial Referral Awaiting Approval) report to open it.

    The report will appear.

  2. Click the magnifying glass () icon next to the Student ID of the student being referred.

    The Request document appears in View mode.

  3. From the Actions bar, click Edit This Section.

  4. Review the case.

  5. Scroll to the bottom of the page.

  6. Check the Yes or No checkbox to indicate that the referral is approved or disapproved.

  7. From the Actions bar, click the Save, Done Editing button.

    The students name will no longer appear on the report of requests for initials or reevaluations awaiting approval and the Status of Requests for Initial Referral/Additional Reevaluation report will now show the referral as approved or disapproved.

  8. Optionally, select Send Message with Document from the More Actions toolbar and compose a message to alert the requestor that you have approved or disapproved the referral.
