Upgrading an Internet browser

Some applications may require you to upgrade your Internet browser.

To upgrade an Internet browser

  1. Select from below.

    If... Do this...
    You are a centrally-based New York City Department of Education (DOE) employee The DIIT Help Desk handles these issues.
    1. Contact the DIIT Help Desk at (718) 935-5100.
    You are a school-based DOE employee The Division of Instructional and Information Technology (DIIT) now supports the Internet Explorer 8 Web browser.
    1. Go to https://collaboration.nycenet.edu.

    2. Log in using your DOE user name and password.

    3. Review the list of minimum requirements and verify that your computer meets these requirements.

    4. Click the link to download the IE8 installation file.

    5. Follow the onscreen instructions.

      When the installation is complete, you will be prompted to restart your computer.

    6. Restart your computer.

    7. For further assistance, contact the DIIT Help Desk at (718) 935-5100.
    You are not a DOE employee
    1. Contact the technical support group that supports your computer.

      Important: If you are working on a DOE computer, follow the appropriate employee path listed above.
