Special education liaisons

Every New York City Department of Education (DOE) school has a special education liaison. The special education liaison is responsible for facilitating the use and adoption of the SESIS application at his or her school. Individuals who need assistance using SESIS or who have special education policy-related questions must contact the school's special education liaison for assistance.

Special education liaisons are responsible for the following:

• Providing school-wide end-user support for SESIS.
  
  
• Serving as the point person for SESIS training requests.
  
  
• Providing special education policy-related support to end users.
  
  
• Escalating issues through the SESIS Help Desk and other support networks, as appropriate.
  
  

According to DOE rule, only one special education liaison assignment per school is permitted (even though Galaxy will accept more). If the principal assigns more than one individual to the special education liaison role, only the first individual listed for a school in Galaxy is recognized by the SESIS Help Desk.
